Player of the Year 35 year old Teddy Sheringham has been named the Football Writers' Player of the Year.
It was announced that Sheringham had won the award on Friday, narrowly beating his United team-mate David Beckham by 2 votes. Sheringham has netted 21 goals for United this season, and has also been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award. However, many have questioned whether Sheringham is worthy of the award or not. Players such as Hyppia, Viera, Bowyer and even Liverpool's veteran Gary McAllister have all been over-looked.

Teddy is the first English player to win the award since Shearer back in 1994! Do you think he's worthy of it? Your say
